The Doors open at the Valley Music Theatre for this benefit show for CAFF (Community Action for Fact and Freedom).
Photographs show John Densmore using Buffalo Springfield's drum set for this appearance, likely because The Doors were double-booked and scheduled to play Gazzarri's on the Sunset Strip later that evening.
Densmore recalls this was the group's first time playing in a theatre-in-the-round.
The Valley Music Theatre was co-owned by Cy Warner who also owned Warner Playhouse
where The Doors played several after-hours gigs in 1966.
